Bob DiPiero & The Floating Stones

Written by Bev Moser
Bob DiPiero & The Floating Stones

Bob DiPiero and his newly formed band,The Floating Stones, performed for a full house of fans and members of music industry on Saturday evening July 11th at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville. The Floating Stones is made up a key group of musicians who have played with top notch artists and are well recognized names on their own. Adam Beard (Will Hoge Band) on bass guitar and vocals; Shawn Victor (Brooks and Dunn) percussion; Steve Kingman (Keith Urban) keyboard and Pat Buchanan (who has played with a list of artists too long to mention) on guitar along with DiPiero.

I asked Bob if he plans on taking this show on the road and he replied “The Floating Stones is made up of some of the most gifted players in Nashville. Someone would have to come off some serious cash to get The Stones on the road; but it isn’t impossible.”

I recently caught Amanda Nagurney performing at the Nashville Palace. She strolled in with her guitar, wearing jeans and boots and looking like she could take on the world. After she hit the stage I realized she probably could. She had a lot of fans in the audience and after her set she had a lot more fans. On this evening, she was clearly a crowd favorite. Her songs are a mixture of traditional and upbeat new country. Her fans say she combines the rough side of Miranda Lambert with the powerful side of Sara Evans and the genuine side of Kellie Pickler in a totally unique way. Amanda's songs from the boot stomping "Good or Gone" and "Tonight I'm Going Drinking" to the soft and tender "Never Break My Heart" she has a soulful delivery that goes hand and hand with her stage presence and nice looks.

As I walked into the famous Nashville Palace, known for the place that turned Randy Travis from a dishwasher and cook to a household name and music superstar, I was excited about catching some live music at Nashville Palace’s new location. I had frequented the old location many times, but the new and bigger location had a great feel from the moment I walked in.

This article is just an introduction as to what we are trying to accomplish.
