As I sat an watched Tyrone Carreker on stage I kept wondering how is this guy not a major star or why has he not been signed to any type of major deal. He has the soul of Keb Mo and Craig David, the guitar laced melodies of James Taylor, and the coolness of Jack Johnson. Dressed in his sweater and a Bing Crosby style hat, he is a forced to be reckoned with on stage.

His voice is silky smooth, great smile, and his finger picking and mastery of the guitar had me doing a reality check to make sure I really wasn’t in Los Angeles catching the next big thing in the pop world. Tyrone pound for pound is one of the best songwriters I’ve caught live in Nashville in awhile and I’ve attended many events with some of the top hit songwriters in town performing.
